Pleased to meet you, my name is Peter Rutten.

After my study of autonomous art at the academy of Maastricht, I exchanged brushes and pencils for a sampler and drum machine. Later I moved to Amsterdam and lived in the squatted OLVG hospital building. From here I started the electro-punk collective 3-1 (trinity) with some good friends. 3-1 evolved over 11 years creating an intuitive mix of raw electronic music, staccato video images and an absurd live performances. In our white VW van we went from Paradiso to Dour festival, from Tokyo to Berlin, from ADE to 5daysoff.

After 3-1 I entered into a number of other musical collaborations. First was Bronstibock together with Chagall and Sanne Groeneveld, later Van Pi with Ivo Schmetz (former 3-1 member), LHISPR with Lilian Hak and again Ivo. I have also released many solo projects under the names Tholyson and Peerte Trunt. Check them out on Soundcloud, Spotify Apple Music…

In 2005, in addition to my own productions, I started the record label Basserk Records with good friends and 3-1 members Paul Rickus and Ivo Schmetz. We created an eclectic label with a catalog of more than 150 releases in various electronic genres. Basserk Records is not a mainstream, not a commercial venture, but an experiment that is constantly changing due to the input and energy of new artists. Love for music and providing a springboard for talent are still central.

My two partners in the record label run the Amsterdam based design agency 310k.nl.  I work with 310k regularly on soundtracks and music productions for video and animations. Together we have completed projects for clients such as Heineken, ABN-Amro, Government Architect, FOAM and other cultural and commercial clients.

View / listen to the different projects on my website to get an idea of the different autonomous and commercial projects I have been part of. You will hear my love and enthusiasm for the music.

If you are looking for custom music or sound effects for your next project, the look no further. I look forward to hearing from you.
